Designing process
When designing our equipment we evaluate all aspects of its purpose and needs. We understand that we must meet your needs as a practitioner, while also providing your clients with the utmost comfort during their treatment. As such, our unique designs balance the benefits of both practitioner and client.
Practitioner Benefits – easy access to client (narrow as possible), light weight, adjustable height, durability, strength, firm foam (won’t absorb the pressure you apply), up-grade options, value for money, back up and warranty.
Client Benefits – your client will experience comfort (soft foam, wide as possible, proper face-hole), safety, style, squeak free, and aesthetics.
The challenge to come up with design solutions that accommodate both practitioner and client without compromising needs have been met in a numbers of ways.
For example, practitioners need a narrow as possible table for easy access and low weight for portability, while a wider table provides greater comfort for the client.
Our solution to this problem is our Side Padding System. This allows the table’s frame to be kept narrow, while adding 6cm of foam around each side creates a wider table with a soft edge for your client’s comfort. Furthermore, our Side Padding System does not add weight or width for the practitioner.

Recent new findings
A word about the mesh & ply base
If you consider getting our Mini-Me table, you can choose either a ply wood base or Mesh base (approx 2kg lighter). Please note that the mesh base has more flexibility than the ply wood base. In the past, we did not recommend the mesh base for deep work and we still feel that for manipulation style modalities such as chiropractic – plywood is the go. Yet recently it has come to our attention through one of our customers that treats many patients with chronic injuries that the mesh base actually assists the process. The feedback was that the mesh base felt more comfy and allowed muscular relaxation under deep pressure. Especially in cases when injury and chronic muscular spasm is apparent. We then did some experimentation and were able to pinpoint why. Firstly, we found that this effect works best if the deep pressure applied is slow, constant & synchronised with the client’s breath. When we applied the same technique and pressure using the ply base table there was a “flat” feeling and an overall tightening response from the client’s muscles around the ribcage. We found that the mesh flexibility allowed free movement and expansion of the rib cage even under deep pressure. The patient was able to freely breathe and relax into the deep pressure…
Due to these findings, we are now re-assessing our view of types of foam that are suitable for different modalities, not only with the Mini-Me model. Please feel welcome to ask…
History and current happenings at Meridian
Meridian has been manufacturing and supplying massage equipment for the last 14 years. Coming from a practitioner background we understand the needs of our customers.
Over the last few years we have been developing new innovative designs and have expanded into the power lift arena. While we are a small company, we continue to lead the way for many of the “big guns”. We have the lightest portables on the world market today, weighing a mere 6.9 kg without compromising on strength. We are also the only company that currently manufactures and supplies the unique Easy-Lift Table, which functions like a power lift, yet is amazingly portable and lightweight.
We continue to fully manufacture our equipment at our Kirrawee factory/showroom location in NSW, and combine forces with another Australian made company for our power lift range. We are only one of a few companies left in our industry that still manufacture in Australia.
